Target group does not use products

Smokers have not used the portable solutions offered so far because they were not functional enough.

Portable ashtrays must meet all functional requirements (see data sheet), e.g. be odour-proof or be operable with one hand. If a “pocket ashtray” does not meet these requirements, all experience shows that it will not be used. Thus, the expected effect cannot occur.

Too few smokers reached

So far, only local campaigns have been conducted. In addition, only a minority of smokers received a pocket ashtray. As a result, only a fraction of the 1.7 million smokers were able to behave in an environmentally friendly way at each location.

If we want to solve the problem, we have to ensure that all smokers have a functional solution.

Litter laws are not implemented

Although littering laws have been introduced in many places, practice shows that they are not implemented. The necessary human resources are not available and the law enforcers often meet with great resistance. The people who are fined experience the fine as unjustified because the vast majority of litterers are never punished.

As long as litter laws are not implemented, smokers will continue to dispose of their cigarettes in the environment as a matter of course.
